Cowboy star Roy Rogers recently exhibited his western skill in
riding a two-wheeled, iron-horse at the Wisconsin State Fair-
grounds during a motorcycle race there on August 22. Cycling
was old hat to Roy. He rode out to Hollywood in the early 30’s
on a motorcycle in the days when times were bad and trans-
portation costs high. Roy then developed a liking of the sport
and rode up until World War II. The last motorcycle he owned
was an overhead valve, 74 cubic inch Harley-Davidson. Con-
sidering 16 years out of a motorcycle saddle, he did a real fine
job of riding before the thousands of spectators in the stands.
