E COMPETITION.
We at Jardine have built our 22
year reputation on horsepower and
quality. To test our reputation, we
thought it would be exciting to run
our new "Double Header" 4 into 2
system against the best of our com-
petitiors' 4 into 1 systems—"heads
up"—at the dragstrip. The results
were amazing!
We used a new, fuel injected Kaw-
asaki Z-l Classic as the test bike and,
after some minor tuning*, we pro-
duced a baseline time of 11.97
seconds at 111.51 MPH-stock. We
then bolted up the systems, one at a
time, and made five passes with each
system. The best times are as follows:
Lastly, just for comparison, we ran
our own 4 into 1 at 11.44 sec and
119.04 MPH—that's PERFOR-
MANCE!
The "Double Header" system fea-
tures a high velocity 180° firing
design for excellent smoothness and
throttle response, as well as a bal-
anced look to your machine. The ex-
haust note is crisp, yet mellow to the
ear, and the styling is Jardine sharp.
Another plus—our individual pipe
design means a better finish and inex-
pensive repairs if you damage just
one tube—you don't have to buy the
whole header.
