The CertainTeed Mainstreet Horizontal Vinyl Double 4in. Clapboard Siding is created with many useful features and is designed with a woodgrain appearance for aesthetic. Some of these useful features include, the DuraLock system, partial rollover nail hem technology, and the STUDfinder system. For a secure fit, the DuraLock feature allows the panels to snap tight, while the partial rollover nail hem technology helps stiffen the siding for a straighter appearance. This partial nail hem technology was also created and tested to withstand up to 170 mph of windload pressures. STUDfinder is another useful feature of the Mainstreet siding because it is an installation system that has letters on the nail hem of the Mainstreet panel to ensure proper nailing to wood studs. This system is also put in place to help prevent unwanted dangers like damaged pipes or wires or exposed nails. CertainTeed Mainstreet siding has a lifetime limited warranty.The term clapboard, lap siding, and horizontal siding can be used interchangeably.
